Welcome Tennenbaum Tech students and families!

I am very excited to be returning to Alliance Tennenbaum as your child’s Resource Lab teacher. You can be sure that I will work very hard to make sure your child is receiving their accommodations in every class to that they achieve success both in the classroom and out.

I came to teaching later on in my life, previously working in the film business in all assets from story/script development and sound recording to screenwriter and film editor. I received my B.A. in Film at the University of Southern California and I currently have a Multi-Subject credential from Cal State LA, as well as a Mild-to-Moderate credential from National University.

My first year of teaching was at a new charter school teaching 6thgrade.  As excited as I was, I was totally unprepared to face the challenges of teaching 40+ students in each class.  I soon realized my strength lay in teaching small groups and working 1:1 with those students who had learning difficulties. The charter school closed after the first year, and while I worked as a substitute for LAUSD, I got my Mild-Moderate Credential in order to teach Special Education (aka Students with Disabilities). I taught an SDC class in elementary school, and then worked as a Resource Provider at a handful of charter schools.  Once I began teaching at Tennenbaum, I’ve never looked back.  The scholars, teachers, parents, and community have truly made this The Best Place To Work!
